Class Acts

This month as Fall 2011 campaign's start to emerge, it seems that the fashion world has become as star obsessed as the general population. Thankfully, so far, no "reality stars" are involved in anything worthwhile in the fashion industry.
From St Johns to Prada, fashion houses are counting on star power to drive intrigue and sales in a spiraling down economy. I for one am relishing seeing some of my old favorites reemerge from the shadow.

First to catch my eye this season was the glorious Sean Connery, wearing one sexy fedora and proving you only get better looking with age. When this new ad for Louis Vuitton first passed my desk I  instantly flashed back to high school when all of my 15 year old friends were obsessed with him in the movie First Knight.
Still looking good Sean, still looking good.
In one of the most down to earth photo sessions of the past year, Angelina Jolie also serves as the face of Louis Vuitton. Angelina, who was reportedly paid $10M for her appearance in the campaign actually sported her own 6+ year old Louis Vuitton for the shoot.  The most inspiring part of her spread? Shot in Cambodia, the birthplace of her eldest son Maddox, Jolie reportedly donated a large chunk to charity. Speculation is that a huge chunk of her fee with go to the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which helps community development and conservation in Cambodia. Now, that is one classy move.
